JOB FUNCTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The General Administration job family conducts a range of diverse administrative and staff functions. This position works with the major projects group for Wolseley Industrial Group Mid Atlantic. The position requires someone who can work in a fast paced and deadline oriented environment. The right person can multitask and assist on various projects. A good working knowledge of Office/Word/Excel and the ability to learn other systems as needed. PDF editor helpful.

AREAS OF IMPACT:

Sets day-to-day objectives to deliver job responsibilities working within guidelines or norms or practices. Work consists of tasks that are typically routine, with moderate supervision and may seek advice of more senior associates.

PROBLEM SOLVING:

Problems and issues faced are routine, but solutions are not frequently clear. Checks and makes minor adjustments to work methods to solve problems that are routine and typically exist in current work processes and systems. May be required to report concerns/problems to supervisors and recommend solutions.

JOB DUTIES:

Perform routine administrative activities according to the organization's established procedures.

Assist managers, supervisors, and coworkers as required for the support of facility services.

Gather, compile, and verify information and enter it accurately into documents such as reports, presentations or forms; and office systems such as databases or spreadsheets.

Collect, scan and upload documents following set procedures

Experience working with many file types

Operate computers to input data into files and databases.

Provide administrative support to contracted office support services organizations.

Participates in associate meetings and communicates any concerns to management.

Performing other duties or functions as requested by management.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

PRIOR EXPERIENCE:

Two (2) years of experience Associate degree or higher in Computer Science, Business Administration or similar field is preferred. Applies broader job knowledge of established processes and procedures that are relevant to own job.

TECHNICAL AND PROFESSIONAL SKILLS:

Ability to organize and prioritize work.

Ability to effectively communicate in writing.

Ability to effectively communicate verbally.

Ability to efficiently operate computers, tablets and mobile devices.

Knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, etc.).

Must have strong and accurate data entry skills.

Ability to effectively work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment

Poise and maturity to interact at all levels of the organization as well as third-party contractors.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Requires working indoors in environmentally controlled conditions.

Requires giving and/or receiving verbal communication.

Requires giving and/or receiving written communication.

Requires using a computer keyboard and mouse to create letters, memoranda and reports.

Requires sitting for extended periods.

Requires standing for extended periods.

Occasionally requires carrying objects that are up to 50 lbs by hand.

Requires walking, bending, and/or squatting.

WORK STANDARDS

EXEMPTION STATUS:

Role is classified as Non-Exempt and will receive compensation for hours worked in excess of relevant State and Federal standards.
