Ferguson is currently seeking the right individual to fill an immediate need for a Credit Manager.

Responsibilities

As a Credit Manager, you will:

  • Evaluate and set credit limits that minimize the organization’s credit risk but are consistent with company practices

  • Manage the organization’s most complex, large, or difficult credit accounts to maintain positive customer relations and minimize debts outstanding

  • Implement the organization’s credit policies so that an acceptable level of risk is maintained, repayments are made on time, losses are kept to a minimum, and arrears are economically collected

  • Contact customers regarding delinquent payments and prepare reports reflecting status of credit and collection activity

  • Manage the credit and collection activities to identify problem areas and adapt procedures to improve the overall performance of the team

  • Consistently review and assess the status of individual credit accounts so that problem debts can be quickly identified and addressed

  • Review, reject, or authorize credit applications in accordance with company standards

  • Provide direction and guidance to less experienced team members

  • Participate in associate meetings and communicate any concerns to management

Qualifications

A successful Credit Manager will possess the following:

  • Ability to organize and prioritize work

  • Problem-solving, negotiation abilities

  • Positive, friendly attitude and strong work ethic

  • Ability to effectively communicate both in writing and verbally

  • Ability to build strong relationships with associates and customers

  • Ability and willingness to be coached

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
